Surf Code education for Noosa shire schools
The Noosa Environmental Education Hub in collaboration with the NWSR offers a free Surf Code Education presentation in schools. Noosa EEHub has extended the work completed in NWSR via their infromative surf code / surf safe program and video to a classroom based session teaching young people about where to surf within our Shire and how to surf safely.
Schools are invited to book the service via this registration page. The program is presented by our educators in conjunction with life savers and prominent surfers from the region. This 30-45 minute session provides students and their parents with a solid introduction to safe surfing for all!
This engaging and dynamic program provides education on the following:
The Noosa World Surf Reserve,
Respecting each other and our beaches,
shark awareness and safety,
Proper surf etiquette to keep us all safe.
In school sessions are free of charge to Noosa Shire Schools so book your session today on the form below.
The FREE Shark Calendar is also available for download below. Click on the image for the downloadable file or locate it here.
There is currently a campaign to remove shark nets from our waterways as they do little to prevent shark attacks and do more damage trapping and harming marine creatures such as dolphins, turtles and whales. Our Noosa Biosphere Education Resource contains a section on this topic and interesting Inquiry Ideas for students.
